Orlando Hudson had 3 base hits and 2 RBI as the SSB SSB Tar Heels defeated the
Langley Farm Team 2 to 1 at the ballpark.
SSB jumped out to the early lead in the first inning scoring one runner using
2 hits. Bobby Abreu doubled. Hudson stepped up next and he doubled scoring
the run. Langley made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push
the needed runs across.
The win went to Brett Myers(3-0) who allowed 1 run in 6 and 1/3 innings.
Mariano Rivera gained credit for his 7th save. Noah Lowry(0-4) ended up with
the loss.
'We won because we did the little things right.' Craig Ahrndt said after the
game. 'This is why we practice things over and over and over, so when we get
in close games we don't make mistakes.'
